It has been around two weeks since we’ve landed in Singapore, and so far the three of us couldn’t be anymore happier with our chosen destination.

It didn’t take long for us to get used to the place and in fact we feel like this is our second home already. We’re having a great time getting to know people and exploring new places every day with a rented car from SingaporeCarRental’s website.

As I write this post, we are currently at a coffee shop opposite to our apartment with the most beautiful view ever. It’s about 5 pm and the sky is filled with dark clouds that resemble something like an oil painting in grey and black.

It’s such a rare sight for me (and especially Shirley) since we’re use to life in sunny Hong Kong where it hardly ever rains. We would usually spend days out on weekends but today we decided to take a day off and relax before we head out again tomorrow morning.

Shirley and I were hungry hence why we’ve ordered some sandwiches while Billy was busy using his laptop computer doing who knows what! But what caught my attention was the smell of freshly baked bread which made me looked around for the source. It was then I’ve spotted a kitchen behind me that had two ovens with one baking tray each.

*scribble scribble*, Shirley is currently looking at an art book, most probably she’s searching for some inspiration sense she just finished her new painting yesterday. Billy stopped working and began to doodle something on his sketchbook while there’s this young man drawing near the floor with his head stuck between his arms resting above Billy’s table! He must have really tired himself out because it has been awhile since I last saw him move! We didn’t mind having him here but he might be blocking our view if he continues to stay still like that. Hmm.. we should ask him to go sit somewhere else.

– “Shall we go?” Shirley closed her book and immediately stood up, grabbing her stuff in the process. Billy quickly finished his drawing before following us out of the coffee shop.

We walked around looking at what’s in store for us today when there was this one particular shop that caught my attention like no other! I wandered around trying to find someone selling leather jackets but nothing. Maybe it’s because it was already past 6 pm and everything were closing down, but then again how would I know? Couldn’t hurt to try right? So I opened the door and entered inside with Shirley behind me feeling rather reluctant. There wasn’t anyone inside except for this elderly lady who seemed to be attending another customer.

We didn’t find what we were looking for that day, but it was still an interesting experience going into the shop. We would often explore new places during our stay here and try out different food, so far nothing has disappointed us. The locals have been friendly and welcoming, always willing to help us out whenever they can. We’re definitely excited to see more of Singapore in the coming weeks!
